Citrus Scented Butter Cookies

A new take on Christmas cookies! Warm Vanilla Bourbon, lemon and orange zest flavored sugar cookies are hand-dipped and decorated with a festive design made with Crispearls and shimmering Brilliant Powder.

The bright and welcoming flavors of lemon, vanilla bourbon and orange make the perfect compliment to a chilly winter evening! The smell of these cookies will certainly get Santa's attention this holiday season.
Ingredients
16 oz (454g) Butter
14 oz (397g) Granulated Sugar
2 Large eggs

10g Dreidoppel Vanilla Bourbon Paste
0.48 oz (13.7g) Baking Powder
8g Lemon Zest
23.5 oz (668g) All Purpose Flour

Bel-Coat or White Chocolate Confectionery Coating for dipping

Crispearls, Crystal Sugar, and Brilliant Powder for decorations
Directions
Cream together butter and granulated sugar.
Add both eggs and Vanilla Bourbon Paste to creamed butter and sugar.
Whisk together baking powder, lemon zest, orange zest, and all purpose flour. Add slowly to butter cream mixture until fully incorporated.
Divide dough in two and wrap each dough in plastic and allow to rest in refrigerator. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to ⅙ or ¼ inch thick and cut with cookie cutter. Bake in preheated oven at 375°F for 7-10 minutes until light brown along the edges.
Dip or pipe with melted Bel-Coat or White Chocolate Confectionery Coating
Decorate with Crispearls, Crystal Sugar, Brilliant Powder, or other decorations of your choosing.
Recipe Note:
Get authentic vanilla flavor without the high price tag! Our Vanilla Bourbon Paste is a great substitute for pure vanilla extract, and works for just about any recipe. Just use 7-12g of Vanilla Bourbon for every 25g of vanilla extract.
