Cream Cheese Rose Frosted Cupcakes
Icing for 8 cupcakes
Easy and elegant! Recreate these stunning Cream Cheese Rose Frosted Cupcakes to celebrate Mother's Day, spring, or simply getting through the week. Use this simple method to embellish cupcakes, cakes and more! Made with PurColour's all natural colorants (the pink color comes from beets!), you can have your cake and feel great about it, too!
Mix 1 cup of cream cheese with the 3 tablespoons of honey using a stand mixer until smooth. The consistency should be soft, but sturdy so that it doesn't drip off the spoon.
Separate the cream cheese frosting in half into two bowls.
Add the 1 teaspoon of Scarlet Colorant to one bowl, and the 1 ½ teaspoon of the Purple Colorant to the other.
Transfer one icing color into a pastry bag bag fit with a rose tip.
Make a dollop in the center of the cupcake.
Place your tip perpendicular to the cupcake (thick part touching the cupcake), and make small arcs.
Continue around the cupcake, going from the middle of an inner arc to the middle of the next arc. Slightly angle the tip out more and more with every circle.
Repeat steps 4-7 for the second color of icing. Enjoy!
For this recipe, Stephanie used plain cream cheese but diary-free works too! Any honey is also fine, but raw honey was used for this particular recipe.
Want a lighter or darker shade? Simply adjust the amount of PurColour Colorant you add to the frosting!
Consistency Tip: Add a drop of hot water to the colorant to help create a smooth, evenly colored icing.
