So good, you'll never be able to stop at just one! The cocoa butter in the Vegan Oat M!lk Chocolate combined with the molecular structure of the vegetable palm shortening makes these little confections melt in your mouth. Requires only three ingredients and super simple to make!
1 lb. (453g) Oat M!lk Chocolate
¾ Cup (140g) Palm shortening or coconut oil *See recipe notes
1 Tsp (10g) Sea salt (for garnish)
8.5” x 6.5” x 0.5” Sheet pan
Microwavable safe bowl
Parchment paper
Spatula
Knife for cutting bars
Prepare a 8.5” x 6.5” sheet pan by lining it with parchment paper.
Melt the Oat M!lk Chocolate and vegetable shortening together in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring in between. Repeat until fluid, approximately 4 intervals of cooking.
Pour the chocolate and vegetable shortening mixture into the prepared sheet pan. Sprinkle with sea salt.
Refrigerate until firm. Cut into your desired bar size.
*A note on shortening or coconut oil: For this particular recipe, Hannah used Spectrum Organic All Vegetable Shortening because it has a neutral taste and allows the chocolate flavor to really come through. If using coconut oil, it should be solid at room temperature.
For Storage: Store chocolate bars in an airtight container. These do not need to be refrigerated. Shelf life is 6-9 months under standard conditions, or can be frozen for up to 1 year.
